Emily Cooper
Director + Producer
Emily Cooper is an Emmy nominated producer from Kentucky. Her projects have premiered at Venice International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and Red Sea International Film Festival. She produced the 2020 We Live Here, a hard-hitting virtual reality experience with director Rose Troche that explored homelessness through the lens of Rockey, an unhoused woman living in the Sepulveda Basin near Los Angeles. Emily was the narrative producer for the groundbreaking virtual reality video game Westworld Awakening from HBO and Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy's Kilter Films that earned an Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences D.I.C.E. Award nomination for Immersive Reality Technical Achievement. Emily produced and directed “One: A State Without,” a short documentary about the fight to keep the last abortion clinic in Kentucky open, which was shortlisted at the Social Impact Media Awards competition. Emily produced and directed multiple social awareness projects covering the 2017 Women's March, the passing of Proposition 64 the Adult Use of Marijuana Act in 2016, the four-day funeral procession of Fidel Castro's ashes, and the Dakota Access Pipeline protests at Standing Rock working with the International Indigenous Youth Council.
Emily has worked at the intersection of entertainment and emerging technology for the last decade as an innovator in the immersive storytelling space. She has worked on teams lead by Oscar Award winners, Disney Imagineers, was a selected participant in the Google Jump Program, a former mentor for LAUSDs all-girls STEM school, a featured community speaker at SXSW, features in numerous webinars about XR, and most recently was a part of Disney's Next Generation Storytelling team. She has produced cutting edge experiences for Disney, HBO, Survios, Sony, Amazon, AT&T, BET, Microsoft, Marvel, and Oculus, and directed immersive experiences for Grammy Award winning artists such as Meghan Trainer, Pentatonix, and Anderson .Paak. Emily has a strong passion for the world of documentaries and journalism. Growing up in the South, she believes that stories can inspire change, build understanding and give voice to folks and communities who are often underrepresented and misunderstood. -

Maria Haras has developed over 100 hours of content across television, feature film, animation, virtual reality and TV movies. As VP of Development for Michael M. Robin's 20th TV-based pod (NYPD BLUE, NIP/TUCK, THE CLOSER, MAJOR CRIMES, LONGMIRE), Maria developed and facilitated production for EAST NEW YORK (CBS) and ALL RISE (CBS/OWN), and sold shows at TNT, OWN and MGM+. She began her career working for legendary producer Roger Corman, where she oversaw numerous original movies for Syfy, Netflix, Sony and Universal 1440. She eats bacon.
